"I look forward to lessons with Rachael every week! I've been taking voice lessons with Rachael for about a year and a half, and I've noticed such fantastic, consistent growth. Rachael's lessons are always positive experiences. Warm-ups often focus on music theory, which has been incredibly helpful for me." - Emma, (Professional Actor) |
" I really appreciate how flexible and genuine of a person Rachael is and even though we were working online over zoom because I was out of town for a few months, I felt like I was right there with her. |
Teaching Philosophy - Rachael's main goals while teaching are to increase awareness and control of of the voice all while having fun! This includes learning how to maintain vocal freedom, and a sustainable practice, learning and unlearning mental, physical and environmental barriers related to the voice, all while creating a safe space to make music together. Rachael has an institutional background in primarily classical music and vocal health. She takes those foundations and applies them to contemporary styles such as pop, R&B, folk etc. Unlearning restrictive practices while learning new ways to approach technique, alternative education methods, building a positive teacher-student relationship, and singing music by musicians who are underrepresented in typical music study, are all important to Rachael's teaching philosophy and studio community.
Rachael offers three recital opportunities per year for students to gain performance experience.
Rachael does not prepare students for RCM exams or competitions such as Kiwanis. Rachael firmly believes in the freedom of contemporary styles and teaching methodologies and aims to foster self-driven motivation as a tool for developing a positive, lifelong, relationship with music.

Rachael has to be one of the best vocal coaches ever. She has so many different ways to teach and her knowledge is endless. She is incredible at picking out and targeting the areas of my voice that need focus and I have improved more than I ever knew I could with her. Also her own voice is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard." - Roy Angel, (Local Musician)
I took a handful of lessons with Rachael to brush up on some vocal technique, and I cannot recommend her enough. Her knowledge and ear as a musician, as well her compassion and patience as a human, are unmatched. The fact that I was able to get so much out of just a few lessons (over Zoom, no less!) speaks to the mastery and expertise of her craft. Whether you are a beginner learning new skills, or an experienced musician looking to refine your abilities,Rachael is amazing at meeting you where you're at and bringing you to the next level " - Katelyn, (Choral Singer)
If you're looking for a contemporary voice instructor look no further!! Rachael is simply brilliant"
