Voice Coaching
Rachael offers voice lessons at her private studio in central Halifax. Her approach combines functional pedagogy with practical musicianship. Specializing in contemporary styles and vocal health, she provides support to singers developing their skills, as well as advanced coaching for experienced musicians. Rachael focuses on providing instruction for gigging musicians, adults enrolled in music and theatre training programs, experienced vocalists, as well as instrumentalists looking to expand their voice as a secondary instrument.

- Rachael specializes in CCM voice coaching for pre-professional and professional adult musicians.
- Rachael is fully booked for Fall 2025. If you have been referred to Rachael, please send her an email at ([email protected]) stating your specific voice goals, past musical training, general availability, and the referral name if applicable to discuss any schedule openings.
- Lessons range from 45-60 minutes in length ($70-$85) running M-T from 11am-6pm.
- Rachael has a subsidy program that students can access to help support their tuition fees. If you would like to make a contribution to the subsidy program, any donation is greatly appreciated and can be donated here (please indicate 'subsidy contribution' in the donation note)

Rachael has an online training program based on a monthly subscription model with new videos posted every 2-weeks.
Teaching Philosophy - Rachael's approach combines functional pedagogy and practical musicianship, increasing awareness and control of the voice to encourage a confident and sustainable lifelong practice. This includes learning how to maintain vocal freedom, learning and unlearning mental, physical and environmental barriers related to the voice, all while creating a safe space to make music together. Rachael has an institutional background in both Western Classical vocal pedagogy and Contemporary Commercial Music styles. Unlearning restrictive practices while learning new ways to approach technique, alternative education methods, building a positive teacher-student relationship, and singing music by artists who are underrepresented in typical music study, are all important to Rachael's teaching philosophy and studio community.
